Meaning there is a problem with the input from your body to your brain. Your balance centers are controlled by three places; your inner ear, eyes, and upper part of your neck. If one of these 3 places are not sending proper input to your brain, you may develop vertigo.
In our office, we commonly have people who have already had their ears and eyes checked out. All of their tests come back negative and it seems like nothing is wrong. What we find commonly overlook is the bio-mechanics in the upper part of the neck. If these joints are not moving correctly, it can cause a problem with how the body sends signals to the brain.

Step 1:
A detailed medical history.
We want to take a look at how your body has been functioning over the past years. Have you had any head or neck trauma? Do you have a job that may cause repetitive injury? Do you sit at a desk for long periods of the day? These are all risk factors for disrupting proper bio-mechanics of the upper part of the neck. Do you also deal with headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, numbness, or sleep problems? If you do that is probably an indication that this is an underlying nervous system issue.
Step 2:
Orthopedic exams and infrared thermography tests.
The first and most important test we perform in this office is the infrared thermography test. This is the test that will confirm if you are a candidate for care. This objective measurement gives me a look at how your brain is functioning. We also perform a series of orthopedic test to rule out any underlying pathology.
Step 3:
Bio-mechanical x rays.
We take a series of x-ray to determine where the incorrect bio-mechanics (movement) is in the neck. This is how we determine where to give an exact adjustment.
Step 4:
Recovery in our cervical therapy bed.
This is very important after the adjustment is given. Our whole goal in our office is to adjust you as little as possible. Since this adjustment is rebooting the brain we want to allow your body time to heal. Our specialized cervical therapy bed puts you in the most comfortable position possible so you can rest and start the healing process.
